A deviated septum will further worsen the situation as the open side of the nose will dry out. In such a case, just taking the cold and sinus medicine may not help greatly. It is best to take some hot herbal tea while inhaling the steam, which will help to clear the sinuses. Say no to caffeine and alcohol If you take cold and sinus medicine and continue to take caffeine and alcohol drinks, it may not be of use as these drinks will cause dehydration and loss of moisture.
