Top Five Reishi Mushroom Recipes
Reishi mushrooms or Lingzhi mushrooms were originated in East Asia and have been used as traditional Chinese medicines for over 2000 years. Reishi mushroom have many health benefits. Right from being a beautifying agent to act as an immunity-boosting agent, reishi mushrooms have multiple health benefits. Reishi mushrooms can taste bitter, due to the presence of triterpenes, but if incorporated smartly in your dishes, they can turn out to be more acceptable. Here are some delicious reishi mushroom recipes:
Reishi mushroom tea
Ingredients required:
- Reishi mushrooms (mostly available in dry woody pieces)
- 2 cups of water
- Honey /ginger (optional)
How to prepare
Bring two cups of water to boil, preferably in a ceramic or stainless steel pot. Pulverize the mushroom as much as possible. Then add one teaspoon of pulverized reishi to the boiling water. Simmer for two hours for best extraction of the bioactive ingredients. Allow the tea to cool for a while. You may mask the bitter taste by adding honey or ginger to the tea, but in small amounts.

Reishi coconut chocolates
Ingredients required:
- ½ a cup of coconut oil
- ¼ cup of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons raw honey and maple syrup
- 1 or 2 tablespoons of powdered reishi
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
How to prepare:
Gently melt the coconut oil and add honey along with maple syrup to it. Whisk the mixture vigorously to emulsify the oil and honey for at least a minute (you can either do it by hand or use an emulsion blender). Then whisk in the cocoa powder and pour the mixture into silicone moulds. Cool the mixture down for at least 15 to 30 minutes in a freezer. You can enhance the taste by sprinkling some shredded coconut and a pinch of sea salt before cooling.
A rejuvenating cup of hot mocha
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heated almond milk
- ⅓ cup heated Chameleon cold brew mocha concentrate
- 2 tablespoons of raw honey
- 1 tablespoon raw cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon reishi powder
- A pinch of cardamom
How to prepare:
Add the ingredients to a blender and blend thoroughly. Pour the blended mixture into your favorite mug. Sprinkle with cocoa powder, smoked sea salt and an orange peel for a hint of zest.

Magical Reishi mushroom brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed
- Water
- ½ a cup of gluten-free oat flour
- ½ a cup cocoa powder
- ¼ cup of blanched almond flour
- 2 tablespoons reishi mushroom powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅓ cup coconut oil
- ¾ cup organic maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
How to prepare:
Mix flaxseed with 3 tablespoons of water and allow it to sit for 5 minutes. In a bowl, add oat flour, cocoa powder, almond flour, reishi powder, baking powder and salt in the prescribed quantities and whisk together. To the flaxseed mixture, add coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla bean paste, and whisk well. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Whisk thoroughly to remove any lumps till you get a smooth creamy batter. Take a baking pan and grease it on all sides with butter. Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. You can serve it hot or may refrigerate and eat the brownies.
Vanilla spiced smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cup frozen bananas
- Half teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
- A pinch of ground star anise
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- ⅓ cup soaked almonds
- ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- 1 teaspoon reishi mushroom powder
- Almond milk
How to prepare:
Blend all the ingredients until you get the desired consistency. Top with cinnamon, crushed almonds, and hemp seeds.
